Our Leveraged Finance Group is an established market leader in advising all types of lenders (including traditional lenders, private credit and alternative capital providers), private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and corporates on acquisition and leveraged financings.

We advise on structuring and implementing complex domestic and cross-border financings for private equity investments and public mergers and acquisitions. Our Leveraged Finance Group is regularly instructed on the largest syndicated and bilateral financings in the Irish market. These transactions often involve senior and second-lien facilities, unitranche facilities, mezzanine finance, bridge financing, debt securities and restructurings.

Our Group draws upon the experience and in-depth market knowledge of our Debt Finance, Corporate and M&A, Tax, Debt Capital Markets, Asset Management and Investment Funds, Financial Regulation and Real Estate Groups to provide a comprehensive service advising on all elements of leveraged finance transactions, delivering the best solutions for our clients.

John Laing / KKR on the Irish law aspects of debt arrangements in connection with the €1bn acquisition of AMP Capital’s portfolio of Irish assets
Apex Group on all the Irish law aspects of the financing of its acquisition of the Sanne Group
Total Produce plc in connection with the initial financing of its acquisition of a 45% share in the Dole Group and the financing arrangements (senior debt and notes) relating to its merger with Dole Food Company Inc. and the subsequent IPO of Dole plc on the NYSE to create the world’s largest fruit and vegetable supply business
Phoenix Tower International, a Blackstone portfolio company, in relation to a group reorganisation and refinancing of its operations in Europe totalling over €1.2bn with Deutsche Bank and Natixis as lead arrangers
Ares Management Corporation as administrative agent and lead arranger in relation to the Irish law elements of a $3.3bn private credit loan to UK insurance broker The Ardonagh Group
Brookfield Asset Management on the financing for its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Hibernia REIT plc for €1.089 billion
Pemberton on Livingbridge acquisition of Chill Insurance
Exponent Private Equity on the financing for its majority investment in Xeinadin, a leading provider of accountancy services and business advice for SMEs
The Lenders on all Irish law aspects of the €1bn financing of Fibre Networks Ireland, a joint venture indirectly held by eir and InfraVia Capital Partners, to acquire the assets constituting the eir fibre network
The First Lien / Senior Lenders to Nenellite on the acquisition of UDG Healthcare plc
